The entire design of the store was based on the Nancy Meyers movies the American film director of such movies like Something is Gotta Give or The Holiday. Katie has explained that her fondness of rom-com and style of Nancy Meyers has played a significant role in the creative vision of the shop. She has confessed to US Weekly that she adores the whimsical and free spirit with which those movies make you feel and that it pervades all parts of Something About Her. Nancy Meyers actress, and longtime muse of Diane Keaton, who had been visiting the shop after its opening, even stopped by the shop to pay a visit.

You have ordered The Viola, The Reese, The Drew, The Kerry, The Kate, The Meg, The Cameron, The Nancy, and The Diane among others. The names are not mere cute, also indicate the personality of each sandwich too. The Diane, as is the case, possesses an air of classic chic. The Drew is entertaining and somewhat surprising.
According to Ariana and Katie, their menu was based on elevated classics with something out of the ordinary, and it is an appropriate description of what they wanted to achieve. They are not over-the-top, fancy restaurant meals.
